Enterprise Compensation Planning

Decision Support for ~1,200 Employees

Built a structured compensation-planning workbook that combined pay positioning, performance, tenure, history, proposed adjustments, exception flags, and real-time budget impact.

01
The challenge

What needed to change.

A newly established organization needed its first structured annual compensation-planning process for about 1,200 employees. Leaders needed more than a list of current salaries; they needed a way to evaluate proposed adjustments in context and understand budget impact while protecting the integrity of core data.

02
My role

What I did.

  • Expanded a basic data-organization request into a decision-support tool.
  • Structured current pay, salary ranges, compa-ratios, performance, tenure, compensation history, and promotion history in one review experience.
  • Added proposed percentage and dollar adjustments with calculated new salary.
  • Built exception flags and segmentation controls to surface pay-positioning considerations.
  • Created real-time budget-impact visibility for leadership review.
  • Developed vertical-specific workbooks and protected key fields to preserve data integrity.
03
The solution

Built for practical use.

The workbook turned compensation planning into a repeatable, data-informed review process. Leaders could evaluate individual decisions in context while HR could maintain a consistent framework across the organization.
